Miss Stang

Another “About Me” kind of page, you have to love those.  I actually DO like this one because I can take as many, or as few, characters to describe myself as possible.  First off, I am not a “blogger”, lol, someone I recently did an interview with in New York insists that I categorize myself as a “Citizen Journalist”.  I like the ring of that, so I think I’ll take it.

I am older than most people may think and from the Midwest.  I have a B.A. in Criminal Justice and also a B.A. in Psychology.  I think that is why I tend to gravitate towards odd news because I wonder, most of the time, what people are (or not) thinking when they do things.  I am also a Masters degree candidate and will finish my Masters degree in Criminal Justice Administration in March of 2012.

I have spent the last year of so being a college level teaching assistant, hopefully, sometime after March, I will be able to teach criminal justice at the undergraduate level, so if you are considering taking criminal justice, you never know who might show up in your class one day, and if it’s me, heaven help you….lol.  I’m not that bad, honest.

In addition to writing and going to school, I am also a beauty consultant for “Stang’s Beauty Bar“.  I sell high quality, designer close out cosmetics for much less than one could buy them on sale at the store.  I know it sounds like I am into a lot but the odd thing is, when you are into something you enjoy doing, it’s not so bad.

I have been asked what my blog is “about” and it’s “about” whatever I think or feel at the time.  Sometimes, I just like sharing things that I’ve seen and other times, I like to read something and pick it apart, it just depends on the day and how many other things I have to get done.

Okay, now that all the formal stuff is out of the way.  I am huge into social networking, it’s fun and it’s a hobby.  I am not sure about the pathology people who let them bother them all day when all they have to do is log off.  I am NOT into drama.  I realized that I was living my life right when there was drama around me but none of it was or is, mine. I have links to my Facebook and twitter pages on the right.

People either like me or they don’t, it’s that simple.  I like to discuss things and I really have a hard time with people who can’t think for themselves.  I play the devils advocate a lot and that seems to get things going.  I am seldom found going along with the masses and often known for thinking outside the box, so far outside actually that I have lost track of the box.  I have no clue where that thing went.

I guess if you want to know more about me then you will just hang out, read, discuss and learn.

Fascinating and unique are two words I would choose to describe you. Will be checking back occasionally to see how your academic life shakes out. I do believe any university would benefit from adding you to its faculty.
